Eileen McClellan

I find inspiration in old photographs – some family, some not.  Their faces imbue a story of my own that expresses personal history and, at times, personal loss.

Most often I begin with the monotype, both dark field and trace methods. I collage previous work – removing and re-introducing elements keeping the image fluid until the final gluing.  Incorporating textures and printed found objects not only creates pattern, but also unifies the surface.
