Volunteer List Expectations
Set-up Team: We start at 8am sharp! We’ll be loading in tables for sign-in, setting up our tables for inking and printing, getting our supplies organized in their right places, setting up the interior hanging space for prints, and setting up the furniture for printing with the steamroller.
Board Transport Team: This is a great job to get your workout in on a beautiful April day. You’ll be working with a team to transport boards to the inking station and then to the press and then to the designated area for artist retrieval.
Paper Handler Team: This team works together to manage the paper transport to the steamroller for the printing, and then to the hanging system to be hung with the other prints. While it may seem easy to move paper, the elements can make for a challenge! This is a good job for anyone looking to stay clean and pristine, as it is very important to have clean hands while handling prints.
Steamroller Prep Team: This team sets the furniture around the steamroller, sets the mylar sheet down, and helps to guide the steamroller driver to ensure a great quality print. This job involves a lot of bending, and a little bit of lifting.
Print Hanger Team: This team of people works to hang prints in their necessary places, making sure to keep track of artists by the system created. This is going to involve a lot of overhead lifting of the paper and careful consideration to make sure the prints are delicately handled.
Clean-up Team: A huge effort is involved in cleaning up after a long day of printing. We will break down all the equipment at the printing tables, clean up the press at the steamroller, break down all the registration and sign in tables, clean up the hanging system, and help artists wrap their boards and prints. And of course, we want to leave St. Arnold’s nicer than we found it! It’s a huge job, but many hands make light work!
