Ray Hylenski is an avid art collector with a passion for artists who make prints, including the early Pop artists. He has over 100 limited edition prints in his collection, including Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, and James Rosenquist. Ray began his film career in the mid-70s as an independent filmmaker in Detroit, Michigan. He has produced and directed films around the world, including the award-winning “America in Motion” on GMC truck salesmen and “Petroline,” the dedication film for the East-West crude oil pipeline across Saudi Arabia. He and his partner Barbara Faber formed Third Coast Advertising, a full-service ad agency and video production company, in the mid-1980s. Third Coast continued to produce award-winning commercials and advertising campaigns throughout Texas, including automotive, commercial, and retail films. They began collecting Texas artists – thanks in large part to joining Looking at Art – and Ray began a series of documentaries about local artists. Sharon Kopriva and Ed Wilson are the most recent artists featured in a list that also includes Dixie Friend Gay, HJ Bott and the late Lee Littlefield.
