My name is Jeramiah Macha and I am a Houston native originally from South West Alief Texas. While in school there myself, I developed a passion for art that I have carried with me ever since. I graduated from Houston Baptist University with my Bachelors in Studio Fine Arts in 2015 and from Texas Tech University with a Masters in Painting and Printmaking in 2019. I have spent the last few years both as an educator and a working artist exhibiting both nationally and internationally. I temporarily have taken a step back from the gallery and exhibition scene after Texas Tech and the ongoing pandemic but I am beginning to pick back up a thriving studio practice focusing on drawing and silkscreening. During my studio hiatus, I have been pursuing my second passion, teaching. I am currently teaching Drawing at South Houston High School in Pasadena ISD where I have found a love for engaging students in finding their own voice by working through issues of identity, upbringing, and violence in their artwork. I have found myself cosponsoring the Gay Straight Alliance at South Houston and seeking to engage students in the community that they themselves have grown up in.
