Maryellen Quarles

Maryellen has served as President of the Printers’ Guild at the Printing Museum (Houston) as well as on the boards of the Austin Book Arts Center, Travis Elementary School PTA and Woodland Heights Civic Association. 

Maryellen has been a printmaker for many years and is a PrintHouston artist member. Her current body of work reflects the ephemeral quality and visual layering of southeast Texas’ native woodland, coastal prairie and savanna habitats through a variety of printmaking techniques. She is a firm believer in the emotional benefits of green spaces and advocates for the protection and expansion of the urban tree canopy in a city with a growing concrete footprint.
