Charlotte Seifert

Making art has been a life-long process, starting when I was a young girl.  I was introduced to oil painting at a museum school class and fell in love with the smells, texture and ambiance of artmaking.    Painting is my primary medium but printmaking has become an important addition to my practice. Using layers of paint or ink, I use art as a way of remembering.  I am drawn to certain colors and marks that evoke ideas, memories or feelings that are in my mind and imagination. I begin by mixing paint and thinking about what is important to me in this moment or over the past months and I start painting.
